ABOUT THE TEACHER
PROFESSIONAL BIO
Ms. Jennifer is a compassionate and highly skilled music educator and therapist currently teaching at WePlay Music in Southern California. With a Master’s degree in Music Therapy from Ohio University and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Music and English from Dong-A University in South Korea, she brings both academic excellence and a deep understanding of how music can support personal and developmental growth. Her primary instrument is piano, and she has taught students of all ages, including children, adolescents, and adults with diverse learning and neurological needs.
Her professional experience spans roles as a piano accompanist, private instructor, and music therapy practitioner in both academic and community settings. She has led adapted music lessons for individuals with autism, developmental delays, and Alzheimer’s, and worked in settings ranging from youth orchestras to preschools, hospitals, and eldercare facilities. Ms. Jennifer’s teaching approach blends technical skill development with emotional and social support, ensuring that each lesson is both musically enriching and personally meaningful.
Fluent in both English and Korean, Ms. Jennifer creates an inclusive, respectful learning environment where students feel safe to express themselves and grow. Whether introducing a beginner to the fundamentals of piano or helping a student use music as a therapeutic tool, she is known for her patience, attentiveness, and calm, encouraging presence. Her goal is always to help each student find joy, confidence, and connection through music.
